Understanding Pythagoras / Normalisation

In our lesson, we had to learn about the Mathematics of Game Design to understand the concept properties of the games which could or would be built. Every Scripter, Modeller, and Game Designer would have to use Pythagoras and Normalisation.

‘We use Pythagoras’ theorem to calculate the length of the longest side of the triangle(s). So…

2D: Magnitude2 = X2 + Y2

3D: Magnitude2 = X2 + Y2 + Z2′

In the powerpoint that our lecturer showed us, explained how a designer would calculate the length of a side especially the size that was the longest side.
